Tell us something unique to you : I was runner for many years before I started triathlon in 2012 as a means to cross train. Both running and now triathlon has always been about staying healthy, stress relief and fellowship. I love the people I meet and for me that has always been a big part of why I race. I did Olympic and Sprint Distances for the first five years I raced. I decided to do a Half Ironman the year I turned 50, but was diagnosed with a rare lymphoma (luckily not aggressive but is chronic and not with a cure yet) which delayed my goal that year. I decided after 8 months of feeling sad about it that I wasn't going to let this get in the way of my goals and completed IM 70.3 Oceanside in 2017. Then I finished IM Phillippines in 2018, but in 17:03 so not "officially" an Ironman. For that race, I raised funds for City of Hope which is a big reason I remain healthy and able to race.
I have been married for 28 years to my hubbs Robert and have two wonderful adult kids Moriah and Bobby. I'm a reality tv queen and watch Survivor and all shows in Bachelor franchise. Favorite all time tv series is LOST even though it's been off the air for 9 years. I am a Ravens football fan through and through.
What are your goals?:I want to complete IM Cozumel 2019 and be an official Ironman. Coach Megan has been integral to my process! Hopefully I will continue to race after this one.
Number of years as a Tristar Athlete and years in endurance sports: 7
Race Your favorite training, camp or racing memory: Crossing the finish line for the marathon I experience emotions I will never ever forget. Along with a time I was proud of, just finishing and feeling healthy was all I needed!Current training tactics: I have been working on endurance and a lot of bike which I need.
favorite training, camp or racing memory: My favorite memory was Redondo Beach Triathlon-it was my first open water tri. It took me 45 minutes to swim 800 yards but I was hooked. It's my favorite because I can see how far I have come in the sport.
