Via Valmonte / Mirlo loop finishing in Valmonte
Lots of vertical riding taking you up Via Delmonte through the neighborhoods before dropping you back down to the ocean bluffs before heading up PV again via Hawthorne Rd. Once at the top of PV a quick refuel at the water stop at the Del Cero Park overlook before continuing down Crenshaw Blvd to the final climb of the day VIA MIRLO! Via Mirlo drops you into Valmonte Neighborhoods and the “tree section” before heading back to the beach. Join our tristar coaches and team riding this gorgeous and challenging course.
Ironman Tulsa 2020 Bike Course Preview
Ironman Tulsa! In prep for the 2020 race our Tristar Athletes coaches have put together this bike course map based on the Ironman websites course description to get a sense for the elevation and direction of the course. Note this is not the final course route.
Montemalaga Dr
Ride around the golf course in PV and head half way up Silver Spur Rd before making a right turn on to Montemalaga Dr. From here break taking views of Catalina as you roll along up and down PV with sweeping turns and modest climbs. From there the ride takes you down to PV drive West heading towards the Radar domes before looping back to the beach areas.
Hawthorne Climb
The hawthorn climb is one of the longest in Palos Verdes with views of Terranea and Trump golf course from the top. This course will be broken up with flatter sections between major climbs. There are several stops along the way and a refueling opportunity for water and food at the bottom of Hawthorne as well as at the top.
