Age: M35-39
Geography: Tristar Athletes Canada
Country and state: Canada, Quebec
Fun facts: Mathieu and his family make the best maple syrup in the winter. They get together and take several weeks to harvest the sap and turn it into the most tasting syrup you could imagine. Perfect for those “low blood sugar” days in training and racing!
Bio, goals and races, tactics: Mathieu has had to be flexible with his training schedule for work travel and to be balanced with work and life. He makes time to train consistently and is studied on his pacing strategy for the Maine 70.3. The goal there is to set a new personal record at the distance 🤙🏻.
Earlier this season Mathieu started off with a bucket list race, Alcatraz Olympic, and has taken the speed from that early season race and training into this 70.3 build phase.
Mathieu has more confidence coming into this race for his run given the great training runs he has been putting down.
Mathieu’s plan this year has called for an elevated stretching and strength routine. Getting to these now and the in the future is key to his longer term success.
Training indoors in the winter can only be done in Canada with a Wahoo Kicrk/Zwift setup!
Late season marathon; Mathieu will be gearing up soon for a big run block and focus to run fast and long for 26.2miles.
