Lori holds certification as a Registered Dietitian with board Certification as a Specialist in Sports Dietetics. She has a master's degree in Human Nutrition from Eastern Michigan University and is currently enrolled in Concordia University at St. Paul for a second Master’s degree in exercise science. She is an experienced elite Tristar athlete, competing at the professional level in road and gravel cycling, holds a 2:56 marathon, has run Rim2Rim2Rim among other ultras, keeps fit in the winter with nordic skiing and has a background competing in triathlon (sprints to 70.3).
Lori has been counseling individuals to improve their health through food and activity for 13+ years. Lori’s career started in the field of weight loss and wellness, which transitioned to performance fueling as she began to connect food to her own body’s strength, health and athletic results. She has worked with athletes ranging from recreational to professional in all disciplines of endurance sport.
Her passion for living an energized, sporty life led her to help anyone looking to improve athletic performance or general wellness through good food and health practices. She provides expertise as a sports nutrition writer for MyFitnessPal, Active.com and contributes to various podcasts and other publications such as Bicycling Mag and Runners World.
Lori’s goal is to enhance adaptations to physical training with fueling techniques to help them not only stay healthy, but to achieve their ultimate performance goals. She believes every athlete requires a healthy food foundation and an individual approach to performance nutrition based on current health/fitness, future goals, lifestyle, health, and diet preferences. Lori will work with you on a personalized, one to one level, to determine a diet that meets your needs and allows you to thrive as an athlete.
Athletic Specific Achievements and race schedule
Lori ran a half marathon before ever touching a 5k. Her passion is racing and pacing marathons. An injury pushed her into cycling and she’s been competing in the pro US race scene for the past few years. Stage races, climbing and gravel cycling are her specialties.
