Fun facts: Tristar Athletes Southwest Team - "Ultra" Julian Summers - Julian is one of our brightest Tristars! reaching for both the moons and the heavens when it comes to goals. A competitive thirst for going long, and at the same time brining a winning attitude and smile to those he races along side; you can’t help but get caught up in his winning spirit!
Julian had a big 2018-2019 season wracking up a total of 12 ironman races in a years time to gain his entry into the Ironman Kona legacy program. …he didn’t stop there, no he went BIG and took down Ultraman Florida finish the grueling three day event with a gutsy finish.
Bio, goals and races tactics: Julian will be racing Ironman Maryland, he is also registered to race Ultraman Arizona and eventually Kona in 2021. Goals are to continue to get faster and stronger and yes with less training time. (No pressure coaches!)
Race History: Call it unorthodox, Julian is the “outlier” that proves to our team and coaches that truly anything is possible. He stretched the coaching team to help him complete 12 Ironmans and an Ultraman within a 12 month period. QUITE A FEAT!
Our favorite training, camp or racing memory: Julian showed up last minute to surprise our Ironman Lake Placid camp, sporting a creepy unicorn costume that left everyone wondering, “im not sure if Im crazy enough to hang with this group”!
Other : Awesome pain cave; Julian gets his work done in a brilliantly setup pain cave featuring the latest tech for wahoo trainers, treadmills and entertainment.

I enjoy creating individualized training plans that reward discipline and consistency as well as providing experienced guidance to achieve your goals." —Coach Suzanne Turner
"Consistency trumps 'big days'. Continuously making deposits in the fitness bank, as small as they may sometimes seem, will make a big withdrawal on race day that much more manageable. That said, every so often 'life happens' and some course-correction is inevitable - that's where the TriStar coaching approach, backed by science and experience, is guaranteed to make a difference." —Coach Attila Kelemen
